New biggest functional centers of activity in metropolitan areas induce increasingly expansive urban processes and deployment of equipment that often demand new infrastructure elements far from integrated projects, what add often new difficulties to the Metropolis. Some of these requirements are capable of tracking, improvement or reorientation. This paper aims to provide results of the identification of major centres of activity and the role played in the metropolitan urban transformations. As ultimate goal aims to contribute to the construction of urban models into a balanced environmental and territorial development.
